Astrology and Asteroids | Chiron

In astrology, everything tends to become meaningful, including planets, stars, and asteroids. To me, asteroids were always these mysterious bodies and strange objects that I was kind of afraid to approach to begin with. I’m not sure why, but I feel many people probably feel the same, especially when they see a natal chart for the first time or images of them online. They’re awkwardly shaped with weird orbits, and honestly, for the most part, they represented something too complex for my brain to grasp. Well, lately, I’m kind of willing to change that. Since they are these mysterious objects that keep tugging at me to understand them in some way, I’ve spent some time learning about them. Essentially, all commonly used asteroids in Astrology derive from myth and are named after mythological figures, as myth is considered the foundation of their symbolism to many astrologers. So, if you stumble upon anything in astrology that is represented by a myth, it’s definitely worth reading into.

The myth of Chiron

Chiron, in Greek mythology, one of the Centaurs (half man, half horse), the son of Titan Cronus and Philyra, an Oceanid or sea nymph, lived at the foot of Mount Pelion in Thessaly. Unlike other Centaurs, who were violent and savage, he was famous for his wisdom and knowledge of medicine. Many Greek heroes, including Heracles, Achilles, Jason, and Asclepius, were taught by him. Chiron frequently appears in the legends of his grandson, Peleus, and his great-grandson, Achilles. During a battle between Heracles and the Centaurs, Chiron was accidentally struck by one of Heracles’ arrows, which had been poisoned with the venom of the Lernaean Hydra. The poison made the wound impossible to heal, and because Chiron was immortal, he could neither recover nor die, condemning him to eternal suffering. To end his agony and secure the release of Prometheus, who had been eternally punished by Zeus for giving fire to humanity, Chiron willingly renounced his immortality. By sacrificing his immortality, he fulfilled the condition for Prometheus’ freedom and was ultimately placed among the stars as the constellation Centaurus.

As mentioned in other posts, I truly believe that Greek myths were written in such a brilliant way that, yes, their moral messages can be grasped universally, but more importantly, anyone can relate to the story in their own way and interpret it through the lens of their own unique life story or psyche. So with that being said, I’m not going to spend too much time interpreting the myth itself, but rather briefly introduce it as something we can all meditate or think about. With thinking, answers come (I hope), and strangely enough, probably because I’m getting old, thinking has become a pleasant experience I really enjoy lately. Ah… the simple art of thinking.

Jokes apart, the obvious universal message we can all grasp here is that sacrificing for a greater cause is as honorable as becoming unforgettable like a constellation in the sky. But on the other hand, another question is raised, and that is how much we can or cannot control in this world. Now, control gives us reassurance in some aspects of life; we can’t deny that, but also a false sense of safety, especially when we lack self-control in the first place. Chiron was faced with a great dilemma, and probably one of the most hellish realms we all have the “privilege” to face at some point, and that is whether we hope or abandon all hope. It’s about seeing a way out of darkness, out of a trap, when everything around you points otherwise, but until we face that darkness ourselves, we are not able to transform it and make something great of it, as Chiron did.

Yes, he made the greatest sacrifice and gave up immortality, but what was immortality to the Greeks? I think most scholars and most interpreters would say that immortality was the greatest divine privilege, the freedom from death that gods can enjoy. But because we are blessed with the art of thinking, I want to challenge that perspective in some way. We can also see immortality as unrealized, directionless, and mortality as realized and directed. And with that, my mind is bent enough, and I don’t want to give myself another headache.

Chiron | The wounded healer

Astronomers and astrologers didn’t know what to do with Chiron once it was discovered in 1977. It was the first object identified as a “centaur,” a class of bodies orbiting between Saturn and Uranus. Most wanted it to just go away, including astrologers. It couldn’t be classified as an asteroid but was too small to be called a planet, and to add to the confusion, there was no rule in astronomy that defined how large a planet is supposed to be. Astrologers began incorporating Chiron into chart interpretation, especially during the late 1970s and 1980s, a period when psychology, holistic healing, and alternative spirituality were becoming more prominent, with many astrologers finding it more than fitting given Chiron’s association with healing and woundedness.

According to Astrology, Chiron represents a sacred wound that we all carry. A soul injury that feels ancient yet deeply personal. Chiron represents the deepest wounds that feel unfixable or raw. But within these vulnerabilities lies a profound gift of healing not only ourselves but others as well. When we acknowledge and embrace our pain with kindness, we open the door to healing. Chiron’s energy guides us toward greater wisdom and compassion, showing us that suffering, though difficult, can become a transformative path to inner strength and meaning.

Chiron is a perplexing placement, for lack of a better term, in our chart. Because Chiron could heal others but could never heal himself in the end, our own suffering can become one of the best guides in the areas of life we struggle most, whether that be health, mental health, education, money management, physical endurance, etc.

Now we all carry wounds, whether that be from past lives, something explored in astrology, or wounds we develop due to heredity or in the course of living. I would probably lean toward a more spiritual understanding of our wounds and say that most of our wounds are hereditary, both physically, especially relationally, and psychologically, and the true cause of our karma.

You can find your natal chart calculator and see where your Chiron is aspected for free, like Cafe Astrology or AstroSeek. Also, this is only a brief intro to these aspects. You can also comment below with your Chiron placement and guess where my Chiron is aspected.

Chiron in Aries, First House

Chiron in the first house often points to wounds surrounding identity, self-confidence, self-expression, or the courage to assert oneself. Early struggles in these areas become the foundation for profound personal growth, allowing you to guide and inspire others facing similar challenges. Although you naturally encourage others to recognize their worth, learning to embrace your own value is often part of your lifelong healing journey. Over time, this placement can develop into the qualities of a mentor, healer, or teacher who leads by example.

Chiron in Taurus, Second House

Chiron in the second house often points to wounds surrounding self-worth, money, personal values, talents, or material security. Early experiences may create guilt around receiving, abundance, or enjoying life’s comforts, making it difficult to recognize your own value. Through healing these themes, you develop a healthier relationship with your resources and self-esteem, often helping others appreciate their own worth and unique gifts.

Chiron in Gemini, Third House

Chiron in the third house often points to wounds surrounding communication, learning, self-expression, or feeling understood. Early experiences may lead to self-doubt when speaking, writing, or sharing ideas, yet these very challenges become a source of wisdom. As you heal, you develop the ability to guide, teach, and help others communicate with greater confidence, often offering unique perspectives born from your own experiences.

Chiron in Cancer, Fourth House

Chiron in the fourth house often points to wounds surrounding family, home, emotional security, or a sense of belonging. Early experiences may leave you feeling disconnected or never quite “at home,” shaping a unique approach to nurturing and creating safety. Through healing these themes, you become a source of comfort and support for others, encouraging them to find security within themselves while learning to extend that same compassion to your own inner world.

Chiron in Leo, Fifth House

Chiron in the fifth house often points to wounds surrounding creativity, self-expression, joy, romance, or feeling seen for who you truly are. Early experiences may make it difficult to celebrate your talents or embrace your individuality without guilt or self-consciousness. As you heal, you inspire others to express themselves authentically, unlocking their creative potential while learning to fully honor your own.

Chiron in Virgo, Sixth House

Chiron in the sixth house often points to wounds surrounding work, health, daily routines, or feeling useful and competent. Early experiences may create perfectionism, overwhelm, or insecurities about being productive or “having it all together.” Through healing these themes, you develop valuable insight into wellness, service, and personal growth, often helping others improve their health, habits, and everyday lives while learning to extend the same care to yourself.

Chiron in Libra, Seventh House

Chiron in the seventh house often points to wounds surrounding relationships, trust, equality, or partnership. Early experiences may lead to patterns of overgiving, attracting wounded partners, or struggling to maintain balanced connections. Through healing these themes, you develop profound wisdom about relationships and become a compassionate counselor, helping others build healthier partnerships while learning to create the same balance in your own.

Chiron in Scorpio, Eighth House

Chiron in the eighth house often points to wounds surrounding intimacy, trust, loss, power, sexuality, or transformation. Early experiences may create a fear of vulnerability or losing control, yet they also cultivate profound psychological insight. Through healing these themes, you become a source of wisdom for others navigating grief, change, and emotional transformation while learning to embrace your own capacity for renewal.

Chiron in Sagittarius, Ninth House

Chiron in the ninth house often points to wounds surrounding beliefs, higher education, purpose, spirituality, or the search for meaning. Early experiences may leave you questioning your worldview or feeling limited in expressing your truth. Through healing these themes, you become a seeker, teacher, or guide, inspiring others to develop their own philosophy of life while learning to fully trust your own wisdom and path.

Chiron in Capricorn, Tenth House

Chiron in the tenth house often points to wounds surrounding career, achievement, authority, reputation, or purpose. Early experiences may create pressure to succeed or feelings of never being accomplished enough despite your abilities. Through healing these themes, you become a natural leader, mentor, or guide, helping others find direction and purpose while learning to recognize your own worth and achievements.

Chiron in Aquarius, Eleventh House

Chiron in the eleventh house often points to wounds surrounding friendships, belonging, community, or feeling accepted by a group. Early experiences may leave you feeling like an outsider, yet they also deepen your compassion and appreciation for individuality. Through healing these themes, you become a humanitarian and advocate who inspires others to embrace their uniqueness while learning that true belonging begins with accepting yourself.

Chiron in Pisces, Twelfth House

Chiron in the twelfth house often points to wounds surrounding the subconscious, isolation, guilt, spirituality, or hidden suffering. Early experiences may lead to withdrawal, escapism, or difficulty setting emotional boundaries, despite your deep compassion and intuition. Through healing these themes, you become a gifted healer, counselor, or spiritual guide, learning to care for yourself as deeply as you care for others.

Cognition and Far-sightedness | Gemini Factor

Whether in psychology, psychiatry, philosophy, spirituality, or religion, the mind, with all its different aspects or creative forces, as mostly characterized and interpreted in spirituality, still remains a mystery to be uncovered. In 2026, many universities around the world continue to conduct research on many different phenomena of the mind, even telepathy and other mental faculties that are still considered taboo. To say that we have a mind is truly a privilege these days, as chaos prevails all around the world and in everyday life, even when it is completely unnecessary. No wonder peace of mind remains one of the greatest luxuries to this day.

Joseph Campbell, one of my favorite scholars, said: “All the gods, all the heavens, all the hells, are within you.” As someone who’s spent years and countless hours in meditation and the art of introspection, I couldn’t agree more. It takes a whole lot of discipline to understand the mind, and not because it needs a forceful tactic to reconcile some of the chaos, but more than anything, it needs patience, self-leniency, emotional tolerance, and psychological flexibility. Without such inner capacity, which we all have the choice to develop in the course of living, the mind cannot become whole, coherent, organized, or harmonious.

In Astrology, the reason why there are so many different problems in life and in the world is mainly because of how people go in circles with themselves, others, or at times, even everybody. When we study astrology, and how it explains certain human faculties, like choosing one thing over another, or choosing a topic to explore at a specific time, or even choosing how we feed our bodies and nurture our emotional needs, it becomes more about reaching beyond. To reach beyond means to have the capacity to be far-sighted through long-range thinking, which in turn deepens our cognition, or the mind’s process of making sense of things. And with these, of course, comes cognitive flexibility, our mind’s ability to shift perspectives, adapt to new information, hold multiple ideas at once, and think beyond fixed patterns, which is essential in becoming more rational, holding space for others, and becoming more grounded and evolved human beings on this little blue planet we call Earth.

Many years ago, when I was in college, to be precise, I had a very peculiar dream. I’m sure it’s logged in one of my journals somewhere, so I don’t have access to all the details now, but I remember sharing this dream with a friend at the time who was much older and wiser. In the dream, I had given birth to a baby with a crystal head. I know it sounds horrific, but there’s always more context, so hear me out. I was on a train, and whatever this journey represented made sense in relation to what was happening in my life at the time, spiritually and materially speaking. But I remember specifically sharing the detail of this little baby with a crystal and see-through skull, a mind so transparent I could see right through it. I was then told about the symbolism of the coherent mind, the purified mind that the soul longs to develop in the course of living. And bingo, it all clicked, and I was able to understand it more as time went on.

In Astrology and in most new age thought today, which was already understood centuries ago through alchemy and philosophy, beyond the brain, there is the faculty of the higher mind, which some people today interpret as more right-brain thinking. This is not how it is interpreted by astrology, though, because right-brain thinking is understood more as that part of the brain used like an antenna or receiver. When it comes to thought patterns, mind, and brain development, many people often get stuck in a loop as a result of unconscious defense mechanisms or projections of the ego, and fail to reach beyond through long-range thinking and cognitive flexibility in order to see clearly. This is why, for example, we often find couples that fight like cats and dogs.

The Realm of Open-mindedness

To reach beyond our head, beyond our brain, into the ether, or the higher self, into the intuitive mind, means to be connected and to pull from a source beyond the limitations of this lifetime, or outside of the space-time continuum, where our experience and model of life become a model for all, and into a different realm of open-mindedness and empathy, free from dogma, bias, favouritism, or stubborn thinking. It means being able to connect to a part of ourselves that can give us a hint, an idea, or a tip that will allow us to get through a certain life situation with less difficulty, with more flow, and with optimum happiness. This is to be able to overcome our Gemini factor in Astrology, which more often represents the challenge of our left-brain function. Whether we have Gemini placements in our chart or not, it does not matter, because we are all influenced by every sign through transits and cycles in one way or another.

Now, the Gemini factor is absolutely essential because without it, we would have no use of our left brain at all, and we wouldn’t be able to function. We wouldn’t be able to think, eat, drink, or dress, etc., so it is essential for us, especially in communion or correlation with the right-brain or antenna-like function, which reaches more into the higher realms of thought, into our soul’s pattern or reincarnation banks (which is another topic in and of itself).

We are all conditioned into a particular way of thinking in life, especially considering how we were raised, and oftentimes, the people who struggle most with the Gemini factor are people who were raised through particularly difficult religious indoctrination or within a cult. When you hear the stories of these individuals, you can truly feel the depth of the pain and how deeply this indoctrination destroys one’s ability to harmonize the Gemini factor within their life and how it pours into every little aspect of it. Even after years of therapy, most of these individuals still struggle to fully heal and live a life free from the pain, shame, and all the garbage that comes from going through that kind of struggle and having the courage to actually break free, especially from fanaticism. This world can become really weird, and when you really think about it all, do try to treasure your greatest asset, your mind. You may lose all the material things in this world, but if you can preserve an open mind, that is the greatest treasure of all.

If you have a lot of planets in the third house, or in Gemini, or if you have an afflicted Mercury in your chart, then you may tend to be a more left-brained, conscious, logical type of person. On the other hand, if you have a lot of planets in water signs like Pisces, Cancer, or Scorpio, or in the twelfth house, decently aspected, or with Neptune trines, etc., then you may be gifted with the ability to be more right-brained or intuitive. Many people have karma connected to this philosophy of the Gemini factor, so it can be useful to dive into our astrological charts at times and perhaps study them a little better.

Our solar system, including planet Earth, (I have to specify for some) completes its journey through the zodiacal belt in approximately 26,000 years, from Aries to Pisces. As the Earth moves in its 365-day orbit around the Sun, the Sun appears to move through the zodiac, passing through one constellation each month.

We have prehistoric records of 40,000 years or more depicting the cyclical nature of stars. Scientists believe that over time, in thousands of years, the stars move but really slowly, so the constellation will shift over time, but we’re talking hundreds if not millions of years to be visible. Also, keep in mind that some stars in the constellations we observe are 6.6 Billion years old or older. Earth alone is known to be 4.5 Billion years old.

Astrology & Astronomy

Modern science is more grounded in evidence-based observation, mathematical modeling, and physics, while myth and metaphysical science are symbolic, intuitive, and archetypal and differ from the empirical and structured science we know today. Our ancestors looked at astrology as having another purpose.

Astrology was more than observing the constellations and their cyclical movements because more importantly, it held the keys to our own mystery. Astronomy evolved from astrology, adopting a scientific approach with the Greeks and Indians.

Astronomy is the foundation of modern science because it was the first field to use mathematics, physics, and precise instruments like telescopes, principles that shaped all sciences, including microbiology. Both are essentially two sides of the same coin. Alchemists believed that the planets and stars influenced earthly substances and human destiny.

Sacred geography was important in Ancient Egypt, especially considering the alignment between the Pyramids of Giza and the Orion Belt. Ancient civilizations did not separate astronomy from geography, alchemy, or astrology. Stonehenge was designed to track the solstices and lunar cycles. In medieval times, different regions of the Earth were believed to be ruled by different zodiac signs, like Aries associated with England, Leo with Italy, etc.

Observing the sky

When it comes to the nuances of the observer, there are many adjacent and creative ways we can attempt some structure in all that we are in a position to observe and reflect upon. All of these different nuances pertain to a certain realm, proclivity of the mind, or dimension, so to speak.

Anytime we strive to illuminate ourselves and others, we are trying to measure something from two points of view. Our curious ancestors interpreted the cosmos through a structured order, cosmogony, and used it to understand and measure all that was observable and in motion, including time.

In fact, historically speaking, astrology originated in Mesopotamia, in the 3rd millennium B.C. Mayans were also great at observing the sky and created their own calendar. They were also known to have obtained complex scientific methods, such as time travel.

Time travel was an important topic for the Mayans and the Palenque site is one of the most important because of its Archeological records of time travel. I visited the Palenque archeological site in Mexico in 2021. On the same day, my grandfather, who was an ambassador in South America for over 12 years, passed away and appeared in my dream speaking his last words.

Mayan astrology, besides being the most important due to its historical, and architectural influence, is also considered one of the most forward-thinking kinds of its time. A little fun fact about Mayan astrology is that recently I happened to discover I’m the Vulture. My friend is earth and my foe is death. Pretty reasonable I’d say, no? My strengths are knowledge and wisdom, and my weaknesses are being jaded and cynical, which have finally helped me make some sense of myself lately and have been a great relief, honestly.

Chinese Zodiac

Let’s look at Chinese Astrology, for instance, which in my opinion, is maybe one of the best to use in the context of our topic and the different nuances or views of the observer. The Chinese zodiac, originating from the 5th century BCE, does not have any important ties to the stars and it does not count years in a linear fashion as most of us are used to. When they think of years, they think of repetitive cycles; Oh, this is the year of the Rat, next year will be the year of the Ox, etc. Years have names and repeat every 60 years and correspond to the five repeats of each of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac.

For instance, if you are Tiger (Fire), your last 60-year cycle was from Feb 9, 1986, to Jan 28, 1987. The previous before that was from Feb 13, 1926, to Feb 1, 1927. Each zodiac animal repeats five times corresponding to each of the five elements. The five elements in the Chinese zodiac are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Only two Chinese zodiac animals are associated with each element, one of which is yin (feminine) and the other is yang, its complimentary (masculine).

For my Astrology geeks, my birth year in the Chinese zodiac is Rabbit and the element fire. The original element associated with Rabbit is Wood and its corresponding yin/yang force is Yin (feminine). Tiger is also wood, and it is its counterpart, yin/yang force, yang (masculine). So if you are a Tiger, specifically a Water, Fire, or Earth Tiger, come find me. I’m your little Fire Rabbit. Rawr. Just kidding. (Wink)

The illuminated and ideals

In more occult studies, each of us has a certain molding of human thought, or disposition of the soul, because of its various conditioning of factors, like genetics, and more, that makes us open to becoming illuminated by a certain order and variety of ideals, whether scientific, philosophical, or mental in any way.

These mental constellations or unique lenses from which we observe will naturally include opposing world outlooks or views. All of the different nuances can be linked with each of the planets, and their movements around the 12 constellations or as seen in the Chinese zodiac, with each of the 12 zodiacal animals and their distinctive attributes.

Every philosopher, new age thinker, great poet, writer, artist, or anyone with any influence in human history and thought will observe and interpret the order of the illuminated soul with its corresponding ideals. Some for instance will like Schopenhauer and his metaphysics of human will but others won’t. Others will operate through the realm of spiritism, psychism, etc. Each of us is so attuned to our own disposition that we cannot become aware of what arises from within and appears as the real inner solution of the riddle of the Universe.

Nuances of the illuminated

A mystic, including female mystics, is someone who when the soul quiets down will seek inwardly for the divine light. They are so attuned and have such a natural disposition and fine perception of how one feels through this or that experience, that something behind it or around it flows into their soul.

Others are illuminated by the world views of Realism. Their whole mode of perceiving and experiencing the world easily enables them to talk to others about the world. They are neither Mystics, Occultists, Spiritists, Sensationalists, nor Idealists, etc., but equipped with very fine perceptions of the external reality around them and of the intrinsic qualities of things, including the sublimity of nature because, with their whole personality, they are in touch with the reality of things they see.

Also, there are those who are illuminated by the realm of materialism. They are people who have feelings and perceptions only for the material. There are also occultists of materialism, who are our modern-day scientists but wouldn’t like being called occultists. They don’t understand that there are other ways and methods you can use to arrive to the atom. The atom remains in the occult until through illumination, meditation, concentration, etc., the powers rise up and illuminate them.

So, as the observer, our ancestors inherited the lens of astrology not merely to predict, but to perceive the rhythms of existence. Whether astrology is the first lost science or one of many, its presence reminds us that knowledge was never only about measurement but also about connection. Perhaps, as we discover celestial imprints, we are not just looking outward but also inward, toward something we once knew.

Life has its ups and downs, and none of us are immune to the wavering unfolding of good times and bad times. We all have our own unique struggles that we have to face, and it doesn’t matter whether we are rich or poor, happy or sad; life is almost always challenging our inner and outer strength. In fact, as I’m writing these words, the Major Arcana Card, No. 8 in Tarot, comes to mind. It is a beautiful depiction of not only strength as we all understand it but also a metaphor for taming those hidden aspects that arise from the depths of our being, very much like the 12th house in astrology.

A symbol of inner power and the ability to overcome internal struggles, according to the tarot, the strength card is all about mastering our own inner beast. In fact, as depicted in the image below, a woman without fear is gracefully taming the Lion’s jaws. These are all representations of suppressed fears, ancestral fears due to trauma, inner doubts, and hidden adversaries. We all need courage, courage of heart, and resilience to face so many unexpected challenges that mirror these same internal struggles. Like the 12th house in astrology, the emphasis remains on hidden enemies and subconscious patterns. True strength comes from within, and it depends on how well we are willing to align with our own transformative journey of addressing and integrating the inner nemesis.

The 12th House | Astrology 101

In the science of Astrology, the sky is divided into twelve sections called houses. Each house is represented by the 12 zodiac signs we know, and they deal with different areas of life, such as relationships, career, and personal growth. The 12th house, in particular, is associated with hidden aspects of life, such as secrets, subconscious patterns, and unresolved issues. It also deals with isolation, self-sabotage, and spiritual growth, often highlighting areas where we need to confront inner challenges and hidden adversaries.

If you look at a natal chart, many will have planets in the 12 house, in other words, Pisces planets or afflicted Neptunes with squares and oppositions. So if you have any of these in your chart, you are subject to having been a pretty mean person, especially in a past life, and also subject to having a very large debt to return to other people as far as learning how to be nice to people. You are also subject to having enemies coming out of the woodwork. People who would say things, do things, write letters, and make phone calls to either make your life miserable or spread rumors and gossip about you that are untrue to other people to make you seem like a bad guy or gal.

12th House Vibrations | Karmic Debt

The 12th house in the Pisces vibration is a very strange vibration because it covers a wide spectrum of energy. The Piscean vibration can be very spiritual and intuitive and loving, giving and supportive, or the reverse would be total manipulation, total dominance, total usery, rejection, dejection, and just infatuation. So, depending on which side of the fence you have your Pisces planets, your 12th house planets, or afflicted Neptune, meaning squares or oppositions on that Neptune, you qualify in this topic. Specifically, people with 12th house planets are going to be more subjected to dealing with enemies in their lifetime, which means people coming out of walls who will either spread lies about you, rumors, or gossip.

It’s like being arrested for something and having the newspapers pronounce you guilty, even though you haven’t even been tried yet. There are many people in prison today as we speak that are indeed innocent; they’re not guilty of the crimes they are in jail for, but the way our Judicial system is set up is that sometimes the innocent pay the price. This is where Karma comes into play. If we did do something wrong in a past life, we may have to serve the sentence in this lifetime.

Now, obviously, these are rare cases, and hopefully, they do not happen all that often, but if we are convicted of something that we did not do, it is indeed karmic and is often associated with karmic debt in the realm of spirituality. It is really weird how things work sometimes and how the Universe will take care of people like that, but the 12th house is a weird house because it also rules institutionalization. If you have afflicted planets in the 12th house, you could very well end up in jail, in a hospital, in a crazy house, or subject to some weird institution, or your Karma is visiting people who are in jail, in the hospital, or whatever the case may be.

The Light of 12th House Vibration | Astrology 101

If you have squares with 12th house planets, in astrology, this means that you have a debt to people that you might not like very much, but if they end up in a hospital or jail or somewhere that no one else can help them, sometimes it’s your Karma to visit them, to send them the care package, flowers or whatever. Because squares represent a debt between you and individuals you know. Likely, our prisons are filled with people who have oppositions to Pisces planets and Neptune who have been arrested and convicted of drug dealing or drunk and driving, etc., so if you have oppositions to Pisces or 12th house planets, depending on your lifestyle, you could also end up in jail.

Now, the lesson here is that often, we look at our lives and want to blame other people, but this is how Karma works. If someone has all these planets under stress, they are subject to being in such a daydreamy state, living in a fog, where their life is an illusion and a cartoon, and where they are not in control of any of it. It gets out of hand to a point where other people get angry at them, enemies, people who were wronged in a past life, and they will make a couple of phone calls to the police or to the hospital or whatever the case may be. These are heavy debts, but this is how Karma returns.

If we adhere to the light, to the positive side of Pisces energy, and we do have these 12th house planets under stress, we could very well be New Age teachers and heralds. You are naturally gifted as a psychic and intuitive and as a spiritual teacher, astrologer, or healer. Still, many remain traumatized by drug rehabilitation centers, emotional or mental problems, accidents, prisons, etc. The good thing is that we are all directors and writers of our own script in life, and the greatest lesson is to be coherent in what we actually want or where we want to be and to have courage of heart and access this higher power despite our karmic debt, tendencies, inclinations, and so forth.

As we look at our lives and ask what our mission in life is, there are various factors in the astrological birth chart that help disseminate and reveal to us what we’re meant to do in this life cycle to optimize soul growth, awareness, and also to fulfill and absolve karma by overcoming our weaknesses and hopefully create a more comfortable existence. As we learn to listen to our intuition and do what we’re supposed to do to evolve and ascend toward the light, we can refrain from doing things that make us descend into the darkness where there is more pain as opposed to the light.

When you focus on your life mission, remember that everyone shares a common ground mission, which has to do with good and evil. In other words, a compassionate, generous, and philanthropical person who lives selflessly and humbly, with a positive attitude and a strong ethical background rooted in increased self-awareness and self-discovery. Or the other side to that which would be a power-hungry, selfish, manipulative, and con artist, somebody who would take advantage of anyone, especially those in a vulnerable position, the poor or the sick, and somebody who might not be the nicest person to be around. Simply put, the purpose in life for all of us is to strive to be one of the more happier, enlightened teachers on this planet who can share kindness, generosity, and tenderness, as we can always use more of it. This is obviously a basic beginning as far as mission and purpose in life are concerned.

We also share a common ground in having a Universal mission in understanding the mechanics of the Universe and reaching a point in our growth where we don’t limit ourselves by reflecting dogmatic thinking, close-minded thinking, and by keeping an open-mind, stretching part of our mind or awareness levels to probing some of the secrets of the Universe or God-consciousness and such where hopefully we can understand the basic law of karma that governs this dimension. The dimension of materiality is ruled by a foundation law of karma, which states that whatever energy is sent forth from the human body and consciousness does return, whether it is a positive or a negative force. So, as far as our mission in life goes, we have a responsibility to ascend, to be decent, law-abiding citizens, compassionate, humanitarian, and also to understand and respect the laws of karma and the order of the Universe by respecting ourselves, loving ourselves, respecting others and loving others without abusing either one, ourselves, or other people. These are common ground laws.

The Aquarian Age

Because we are in the Aquarian age now, there is a massive effect that is going on that is much more group-oriented than normal throughout world history, which means that many of us share a common ground mission where we are meant to be midwives onto this age. In other words, we are here to assist people on this planet and the earth as an entity to ease into a new level of consciousness and understanding. Now, of course, many people are not here for that same reason. A lot of people, for example, that would be interested in astrology, metaphysics, karma, psychic and spiritual awareness, the occult, the unknown, and healing light practices and such would be people that would naturally abide to this particular mission. Many of us are conditioned by societal expectations, educational systems, peers, and family from an early age, and we are also conditioned and shaped to become something that we are not. And a lot of times, if not all the time, the reason why we are so stressed out as time goes on is because we are not adhering to our natural life mission.

Astrology, as a science of the stars with the constellations we see in the sky, is a reflection of the vibration of the Universe, and we absorb and are ruled by these vibrations as we take our first breath when we incarnate. If you are an astrology enthusiast and look at the natal chart, you are looking at the cosmic forecast of the vibration patterns, of what this particular configuration and geometry mean as you enter this word and the potential of how it would affect you as an individual. If you have Saturn in certain houses that govern direction and goals, such as the 11th house, the house of Aquarius, you’ll have a hard time knowing what you are actually here to do or where you are going. Very intense 11th-house factors can contribute to stress and delays. For instance, I have Black Moon Lilith in the 11th house, which makes it difficult to fit in and facilitate progress, etc. So very intense 11th-house factors or very stressed out Aquarian planets or squares and oppositions to Uranus, these all have to do with goals and directions in life and plug into purpose and mission.

Aquarian factors

So, to summarize, what you have to look out for is either Aquarian planets under stress, Saturn in Aquarius, Saturn in the 11th house, planets in the 11th house under stress, or Uranus in the chart under squares and oppositions. Now, any one of these factors in your natal chart could mean that you have a karma or a problem concerning direction in life, but it also just so happens that those who do have these afflicted Aquarian factors, which includes many of us, make it more prone to be involved in New Age and metaphysical thought. So where the direction may be screwed up or confused, many are like that because they are not aware that their mission in the coming decades is going to be a mission in the new age.

Also, there is a possibility in the coming decade that society as we know it will change overnight, whether this has to do with extraterrestrial contact and disclosure or if it is related to a new discovery such as AI that is already present and that will impact society in a profound way. This means that many careers that we are worried about with computers, television, etc., will not be as important anymore, and those who do have heavy Aquarian and Uranus factors in their chart that struggle with directional problems and knowing their mission in life, at that point will be called upon to be a New Age metaphysical, spiritual, and psychic leader. Also, study your north node of the moon, designated as NO in your natal chart, which indicates more of your soul’s purpose, how your soul intends to grow in this lifetime before you die by releasing its south node, and your predisposed and karmic tendencies.

Planetary Aspects

When we look at astrology and our natal chart, the planetary aspects help us study ourselves, our innate dispositions, and such as with squares, the karma or debt we have with ourselves, where we possibly hated ourselves or lowered our own self-esteem and put ourselves down in past lives by lacking authentic love towards ourselves, with our own God-spark or Spirit. Remember that astrology is a metaphysical science, a science of the evolution of the soul, and the energy we conceive at birth is a powerful karmic pattern that lets us know what our current state of debt concerns this hate and anger towards ourselves and others.

These planetary aspects are like a karmic map, and we can understand them by studying them more in-depth, such as squares and oppositions, trines and sextiles, or conjunctions. Squares and oppositions can reveal karma or debt for this life cycle. Trine and sextiles reveal dharma (good karma) from a past life, and conjunctions could go either way or both. Each sign has 30 degrees of identification, and each degree has its own minute. The more squares you have in your natal chart, the more insecure to yourself, lost or lonely, and the more frightened you feel. Because of these squares in your chart, you feel you need things outside yourself, like power, money, glory, and middle or upper-class ethics that make you happy emotionally and mentally. If you don’t have your natal chart yet, get yours here. Free natal chart!

Hate & Anger

Squares typically represent anger we carry from unlearned lessons towards self, obsessions, addictions, and self-destructive behaviors. They show up as insecurities, vulnerabilities, a part of us that takes things personally, both emotionally and mentally, and the part of us that over-criticizes to find reasons to put ourselves down. Squares in our astrological birth chart will help us delineate where we hate ourselves and are angry with ourselves. And oppositions, on the other hand, reveal karma where we hate or are angry with other people. If we have yet to learn life lessons for Universal karmic justice, they will show up as squares and oppositions in your natal chart. We will need to pay off the debt by identifying our hate and anger toward ourselves with squares or with other people through oppositions.

Whatever shows up in your astrological birth chart shouldn’t make you feel worse than any other person. Everyone in the world deals with hate and anger, and no one is spiritually perfect. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be here adjusting and balancing the karmic scales. So, when we judge ourselves or others, creating more hate and anger, we manifest more negative vibrations and more karma. We create situations that can be very negative for our current or future state. This is why therapy can be great for everyone and why it’s essential to seek help when struggling with negative emotions like hate and anger. Remember, the truly spiritual person or happy person that has control over their karmic growth is a person that knows how to process their emotions and surrender this hate and anger.

Transits & Saturn

Even if you’re not born with too many squares or oppositions in your natal chart, there is still Saturn. Saturn rules karma, and everyone goes through continuous transits of squares and oppositions. So whenever you’re going through a transiting square or opposition in your chart, you are given the opportunity to hate yourself or others or to create anger toward yourself and others. That’s why some people have such a hard time when they have a long transit that features squares and oppositions. Everyone has karma to a certain degree in life, where we face anger, love-hate, or extremism. The best we can do is love ourselves and the world without reservation and understand the history of this planet, and the Universe, as a reflection of ourselves.

House activities and transits | Basic astrology

When you follow the planets moving through your houses, it reveals some purpose. It can trigger karma or a life experience concerning what’s going on in that house. So it’s essential to know the house locations of your natal planets. And be aware of the house location of transiting planets, because you’ll be able to put into excellent perspective what’s going on with your life.

Getting down these house activities is so important in understanding astrology. The first six houses, the bottom part of the chart, reveal the self and self activities. In contrast, the upper six houses have to do with other people and activities with the world. Remember that even if you aren’t born with planets in a particular house, you’ll be subject to having a focus on that house sometime during life. If you don’t have your natal chart yet, get yours here Free natal chart!

Planets in the 1st house – Planets & houses

The first house is very heavy because it is ruled by your Rising sign. This house has everything to do with who you are and what you’re trying to do with your life. It’s your identity, your south, your uniqueness, personality, appearance, and how people see you. It’s also your childhood, part of growing up, and basic learning situations.

So, when looking at your natal chart, when you have planets in your first house at birth, there could be a lifelong situation or an activity concerning growth—concerning growing up. Like childhood and its influences and effects. Things concerning your appearance and identity, and how people see you, perhaps your height or weight.

Typically when you have planets in your first house, there is karma with that type of activity. If you’re having a transiting or moving planet, go through that first house, there could be a focus, a current focus on personality, remembrance of childhood, identity, appearance, height, weight, how you feel about yourself, and overall self-esteem. So the first house is very significant.

Planets in the 2nd house – Planets & houses

The second house is the house of values, self-worth, and what is important to the entity. Sometimes, what is important can be a problem or an issue or karma if you have planets under stress, meaning squares or oppositions located in the second house.

So, love, money, property, feelings, vibrations that we may feel, whatever we think our purpose in life is, can have effects as far as all second house activity are concerned. This house is extremely important, and at birth, planets in this house give us a focus on lifelong karma, and its moving or transiting planets in this house give us a current focus.

Keep in mind that some planets will stay in a house for many years. Uranus transits in a house for up to seven years, and Neptune or Pluto transits can take up to 12 or 16 years. So, if you have a planet transiting your sixth house of health, there could be a lot of focus in that area.

Planets in your 3rd house

This house is the house of brothers and sisters and short trips. Getting things done, being busy, communication, letters, emails, phone calls, messages, mail, details. It is a Gemini vibration, and whenever you have planets in the third house, it asks us if we’re up to date in communications in life. The third house natal planets focus on communications, short trips, brothers and sisters, and transiting planets indicate how busy you will be during those transits.

Plants in your 4th house – Planets & houses

Planets in your fourth house concern the home and security, residence, the mother, the nurturing part of our nature, emotions, sensitivity, our past, and past lives.

So, there is a focus on these issues whenever there are planets in the fourth house. When planets are transiting and hit the fourth house, these activities are triggered.

Planets in your 5th house

This is the house of children, family, romance, creative ability, creative insight, and the father. So, many times, when you have planets in the fifth house at birth, it gives you a creative ability, a leadership quality, a take-charge quality. Transiting and moving planets in this house will trigger experiences that will designate family, creativity, wanting or having children, etc.

Planets in your 6th house- Planets & houses

Natal planets in this house are very analytical and detail-oriented. You are pretty much like a detail master in the sixth house. There is more of a focus on work, ethics, service and health situations, and karma. Also, worrying, nervousness, and analysis concerned with all of the above.

This is a good placement as far as hard-working people. People that can get things done like mechanics, surgeons, doctors, accountants, secretaries, mathematicians, and people who work with numbers.

If you have moving planets in this house, a lot of times, you will have an issue in your life concerning work or health maintenance.

Planets in the 7th house

The seventh house has to do with relationships with people. Simply relating to people or getting along with people. Forming love contacts outside of the immediate home and family.

Forming contacts with people you would care for or nurture, bond with, friendships, partnerships, legal matters, marriage, negotiations, and sales ability.

So, natal planets in this house will focus on relationship activities, and transiting planets will focus on relationships for that current period.

Planets in the 8th house

Natal planets in this house create intensity, extremism, more of a closer bonding and intimate relationship, going beyond just loving and physically bonding, psychic intuition and telepathy, transformation and rebirth concerning life and death, the universe, and occult matters.

So, natal planets in this house will have a focus on those areas, and moving or transiting planets will bring a current focus to love and sex and all of the above.

Planets in the 9th house – Planets & houses

Natal planets in the ninth house are concerned with optimism, philosophy, travel, mobility, contact with foreigners, higher education, college, and transiting planets in this house will create a current focus.

Planets in the 10th house

Natal planets in this house put a focus on ambition, practicality, logic, karma, or debts, and of course, transiting planets in this house will put a current focus on those areas, including career and success.

Planets in the 11th house

Natal planets in this house put a focus on goals, friends, life’s destiny, organization, high technology, and high science. Also, matters dealing with humanitarianism, philanthropy. If you’re born with planets in this house, there’s a focus around those areas. When planets are transiting this house, there is a current focus.

Planets in the 12th house- Planets & houses

If you have planets in this house at birth, there will be a focus on sensitivity, spiritual awareness, enemies, self-destructive behavior, contact with the dream world and higher self, contact with spirit guides or spirit entities. And of course, when you have transits in this house will put a current focus on all those activities.

Can astrology be used as a tool for self-realization?

To some extent, I believe so. However, I’m well aware it sounds a bit absurd to some since we are taught that astrology is pretty much fantasy and what we find in the horoscope section on the back of a newspaper. We look at the horoscope to determine whether we will have a good day or a bad day. If we will make money or find love, etc.

I have studied astrology for a few years now, and not only am I astounded by how much knowledge the stars hold, but I have realized that astrology is an actual science of the self when studied in-depth. “As above so below,” we have probably heard this phrase multiple times, and I am a big believer that the microcosm mirrors the macrocosm and vice versa. When we look at history, we find that astrology dates back to the Babylonians and ancient Greece.

Astrology isn’t so much about predicting what the future holds or playing fortune tellers, and this is where most people mistake what astrology is really about. Yes, there is an energy system that controls life on earth. Still, astrology is there to help us be in touch with who we truly are so that we can understand its influence and tap into the many layers of our distinct personality traits.

But most importantly, to study our various inclinations when it comes to our purpose, vocation, intuition, family life, work, romantic love, the physical self, our social life and understanding, philosophy, dreams, spiritual life, etc. It is a metaphysical science, and it goes beyond what we sense in the physical.

How does astrology work exactly?

When we look at astrology, first, we find our sun sign. So if you’re born in January, for instance, then your sun was positioned in the constellation of Capricorn. If you were born in March, then you’re ruled under the sign of Pisces, etc. Now, this is just the tip of the iceberg. In actuality, astrology must go beyond the sun sign. If we want to understand astrology and its influence, we need to look at our own natal chart, a free service that you can easily find on the web today as long as you know your time of birth, date, & location.

We have to keep in mind that all the different planets in the solar system helped design life as we know it on planet earth. That is why each individual planet means something very different in astrology. Each planet being like a separate chakra or vital organ in the solar system, helps us experience these energy vibrations from all other planets. In basic astrology, we want to know where the planets, the sun, and the moon were positioned at the time of our birth.

We use astrology to know and understand ourselves better. How easy is it to know ourselves? Is there anybody out there who knows themselves that well? We’re all human, we all make mistakes, we all have a unique set of karmic implications in our lives due to our upbringing and social conditioning. We all have specific patterns we have difficulty breaking. We all struggle with certain addictions in life, like sex, romance, drugs, money, alcohol, food, etc.

When you look into an astrology chart, when you look at the planets and where they were frozen in space at the time of your birth, you can actually weed through some of the karma and patterns you weren’t aware of before. Now I don’t want to take this post too far into complex astrology but want to keep it relatively simple. I will talk about the fundamental meanings & vibrations of each of the twelve signs and why you should know your sun, moon, & rising sign.
