Since my earliest days, I remember,
Realities to distinguish that render,
A mind split and a broken heart,
Where love and hatred left a taste of tart.
From dawn to night, with eyes shut, another opened,
Where direct knowing with feeling awoke and,
Centered and more than reasonable, I walked observing,
A world that needed more than subserving,
Ancestral cries and laughter simultaneously existed,
Where many showed their colors all twisted,
Alone and in silence, I learned to overcome crippling fears,
With the miracle of loving all distasteful tears.
