what lover

Love’s sanctuary must really be a prison,
All I think about is if the moon has yet risen,
Waiting for the dark with its invasive numbness
for a sense of well-being
While talking in the middle of the night to a fragmented soul incapable of freeing
A mind tormented and a heart tied to a mystery long woven
Like the brightest stars above—all of them purposely chosen
But stubborn pride, possessive with its hardening force
Has only been the true cause for more remorse
Because separating distances seem to be the ultimate illusion
When I can’t seem to get you off my mind, like a narcotic infusion
Inside your love is where I found my highest remedy,
And the rarest vision with a strange and enchanting melody.

Jetona Andoni

Words feed my soul, ground my spirit, and elevate me all at the same time.
